Elise Gallagher is a published fiction writer, freelance editor, and adjunct English professor. She received her MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts from the University of Baltimore. Before becoming a freelancer, Elise worked in the trade publishing industry as an Associate Production Editor with various companies including, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Her short stories have appeared in various literary magazines, and she is currently seeking literary representation for her second novel. In 2018, she attended the One Story Summer Writer’s Conference. She is a Senior Fiction reader for Cherry Tree literary magazine and teaches creative writing during the summers.

Dr. Urquhart walked-on the Cyclone varsity basketball team as a freshman and participated all 4 years serving as co-captain his senior year. He holds the distinction of the first recorded triple double in ISU basketball history. He also received Academic All Big 8 Conference honors. Upon graduating ISU with honors, he attended the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with Scott Postgraduate Scholarships from the Big 8 Conference and the NCAA.
In his 20+ years of practice he has served as chief of orthopedics at 2 New Jersey hospitals. In September of 2013, she transitioned to the corporate Financial Management Project Management Office and began working on large organizational redesign and regulatory implementations. Mary Ann graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and minor in Cultural Studies from Bentley College in Waltham, MA, then completed her MBA in 2005 from the University of Phoenix.
Mary Ann is a member of The National Association for Female Executives and BDPA, is an INROADS Alumni, lifetime member of The National Black MBA Association, and a Leadership Newark Fellowship Alumni. She serves as the CFO for The Girls Action Network, a nonprofit that focuses on the empowerment of young women, as the executive vice chair of the board for United Way of Greater Newark and is COO for the Black Leadership Forum.
