Episode #24 with Elise Gallagher whose tenacious pursuit of her dream helped her to become an editor for some top publishing companies and paved the way for her entry into freelance editing.
Elise Gallagher is a published fiction writer, freelance editor, and adjunct English professor. She received her MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts from the University of Baltimore. Before becoming a freelancer, Elise worked in the trade publishing industry as an Associate Production Editor with various companies including, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Her short stories have appeared in various literary magazines, and she is currently seeking literary representation for her second novel. In 2018, she attended the One Story Summer Writer’s Conference. She is a Senior Fiction reader for Cherry Tree literary magazine and teaches creative writing during the summers.
